Ah Sunflower

Ah Sunflower, weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the sun;

Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveler's journey is done;

Where the youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,

Arise from their graves, and aspire
Where my Sunflower wishes to go!

by William Blake

This post is was inspired by the wonderful poems and quotations provided daily by Nancy at Soliloquy!

  2. Hi Dave. Love your sunflower pictures. My sunflowers are blooming too. Yours are much larger and more colorful. Mine are from seeds the birds were kind enough to plant in awkward places all over the yard;)

    Your ideas are interesting. I've learned so much wandering through gardener blogs.

  3. I'm so glad when you're inspired by anything you find at Soliloquy, Dave. :) I can't get over the gorgeous orangey-rust color of this flower - simply beautiful!

  4. Hi Dave, what fantastic colors on your healthy looking sunflowers. And you chose the perfect piece to showcase them, well done. I have never participated in this because my poetry knowledge is so inadequate, but you have given me great joy with your posting, thanks.
