Henbit is Here!

Coming soon to a lawn or garden near you … Henbit (Lamium amplexicauli)! The cover-all-lawns-with-purple-spring-color ground cover. If you’re tired of the green look – consider purple. It’s easy care with absolutely no maintenance and pollinator friendly! You don’t even have to plant it as henbit will find its own way to your lawn.

It’s a weed but sure is another purty one!

  1. HolleyGarden,

I think you could but most people would think you are out of your mind – but I don't mind one bit, or one henbit that is. 😉

  2. I've been pulling out hairy bittercress this week. I'd gladly take henbit over hairy any day! We have tons of henbit around the edges of our woods where it is pretty in purple.

  3. Henbit is very a very useful weed if you have chickens. Not only do they love it, but it has increased my hens egg production!
